Damn addicting this is :)

Kaukolike responds:

I've been working with evil scientists from soviet Russia when developing this game. It has a secret message in it that brainwashes you while you play!

The old one

Maybe it's about time for you to move to original titles. But, anyways this was fun. I found it a bit unbalanced, but it's ok. Played as a mage, it was difficult at first, but when I reached lvl 15 it got really easy: Polymorph->Adrenaline Rush->Cold Blood->Pyroblas. Only the last boss at ZG didn't get 1 hit away from death after this. So i had to use few energy restoring items and include heal in the rotation. On the other hand it was almost impossible when I was killing crocs at lvl 10 or something like that, because game didn't let me restore my energy, thus a mage had to cut with knife in 3/4 battles.

If you are up for a real challenge try looking for the legendary dragon Onyxia.

Good day

The game is quite bad, but it has potential.
1) Music too annoying, I suggest something with less high sounds, bass stuff and the like.
2) Menu isn't too stylish, especialy the text, create some borders around the text and avoid using such a variety of colours for every piece of text. That should make menu more appealing.
3) Heavy overuse of gradient and fade effects. Those things exist in flash for rare occasions when you really need them. I suggest drawing your own cores. Punch in the google images for symmetric icons, to get some ideas.
4) The advertisment in every screen is not a bad idea, it's just badly designed. It should be visible, yet further away from ingame buttons.
5) I'll repeat myself, gradient = bad (most of the time, not always of course).

Keep working, it will get better with time.

fortunacus responds:

thanks for the tips, i will improve it

Great work!

Intense mood, great platforming.
1) I discovered that when you're standing still after actvating the key on B2 and standing on edge before jumping to electrified platform, character is moving little by little to the right, which was strange a bit.
2) Two encounters were creepy, but the third one was generic one. You should make different monsters for non-scary encounters. Because if a player encounters too much of the same monster in a simple visible and predictable way, the next time he encounters the same monster with scary popping out, the player won't get scared, he'll just think: "Oh well, I just butchered 20 of these in the last level, nothing too specal or scary". Thus I believe those scare monsters should be saved only for scary encounters and some other type of monsters should be made for simple ones (of course in the course of game all of them should change, but I think you know that).
3) Crate pushing is a little too slow even for a survival horror. And if you consider this to be an action game (which I don't) then it's way too slow.
4) Flame thrower feels more like a drill than a flamethrower, when it comes down to physics. Let the wooden crates ignite and enflame the crates around them to at least burn for a little of damage before the fire burns out, this would make the player feel that they are really using a flamethrower.

Those are the tweaks I'd make if this was my production, but I don't know whether all of them are good or not. Good luck with development, this one really looks promising!

Snakex86 responds:

1) yeah, thanks for telling me that, actually he's moving to the left in my case ... but never noticed that! it's probably something in the collision code.
2) interesting point my friend! will keep it in mind ..
3) ok will do it right away
4) will add this to my to-do list.

Thanks for taking time and writing that .. I appreciate it, and for the 10.

Interesting Idea

1) Some people complain about AI being too strong. Well I beat it in my first attempt and I do not play chess that much. Last time I played chess was about a year ago.
2) Changing Color of all possible moves when you click a piece would be good for beginning players (I'd love it, because I always need some time to figure out where are the available squares for the horse).
3) The rules, reading your tutorial I heard the en passant for the first time. Ok, nice. About the casting, I heard that you can only do this only if no pieces were attacked, but there are variations probably, the time I heard it was when two of my friends were having a huge argument whether this rule is true or not.
4) Animations were nice, I liked them.
5) But in the end I believe that animations were the only thing that distinguishes this from other games and sadly such detail cannot easily become core concept which makes the whole thing really unique or great. Adding multiplayer would be easy, maybe useless, but easy and it would not burden singleplayer experience. Making more games available with animated characters or maybe including some "minefields" campaign.
In the end: 8/10 A good game, with a little twist. But the twist is just too small to make it perfect.

RatherRandomReality responds:

Thank you for the thorough review and the 8/10

Not bad but

The numbers are faded out and you sometimes click one or two accidently. I think you need to see the sequence you just entered. It was creative and original, but quite boring I guess. Nice work anyway.

magic585 responds:

Sorry, I don't know how to do that thing with the numbers yet. I am primarily a visual artist, games are still an experiment for me. And sorry you were bored. I guess I overestimate the attention span of gamers.

Ignorant!!!

People are dying somwhere in the world and you are creating a game?! How ignorant!!! Well anyway a great game I dare to give you 4/5 nice work, interesting gameplay!

PsychoGoldfish responds:

thanks for the 4/5... wich is how many newborns in Ethiopia just died

Good, but...

The game engine was just perfect! I liked all the stuff a lot, the storyline was addicting too, but i think you should make your own characters, world, items and stuff! With such skills make your own game not a rip off of warcraft or some other game!

un-mediocre responds:

My next game is going to be totally original, stay tuned :) Thanks for the comments! :D
